Welcome to St Peter's

10 May 2020

As you know, Cabinet will make a decision on whether and when the nation will move to the next stage of response to Covid-19 tomorrow (11th), with the possibility that Alert Level 2 might come into effect as early as tomorrow night.

The St Peter’s parish leadership team, along with leaders of other parishes, is in the process of assessing our options under Alert Level 2 and how we best meet and balance all aspects of wellbeing for parishioners and the parish – spiritual, physical, mental, and material. We will communicate the plan and the timing of its implementation once it is developed. In the meantime, all the things we have been doing as a parish – including the present options for worship, and mechanisms for keeping in touch – will remain in place.

Please pray for officials and Cabinet ministers as they continue to strive to do what is best for the nation during this pandemic; and please similarly pray for your parish leaders.

Grace and peace to you all.

Stuart

Eternal God, you are our beginning and you will be our end; we are made in your image and likeness.
We praise and thank you for this day. This is the day on which you created light and saw that it was good.
This is the day in whose early morning light we discovered the tomb was empty, and encountered Christ, the world’s true light.
This is the day you have made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it.
Grant to us this day and every day such readiness and delight in following Christ, that whether our lives are short or long we shall have lived abundantly.
Amen
